Practical operating layers
I work on AI-enabled tools and workflows that give people a clearer path from a real question to usable work.
Father · founder · recording artist
I founded CarbonHelm to build practical AI systems, and I record independent hip-hop and R&B as CarbonFiber. Both come from the same instinct: make the work real, own the craft, and keep going.
San Jose roots · Las Vegas baseProfessional work
CarbonHelm grows from real operating problems: how to make AI useful, inspectable, and appropriate to the task instead of simply impressive in a room.
I work on AI-enabled tools and workflows that give people a clearer path from a real question to usable work.
The right starting point is often the handoff, repeated task, or decision that keeps costing a team time and attention.
Useful systems need boundaries, review, and plain language about what has actually been checked.

Founder story
My roots are in San Jose; my base is Las Vegas. CarbonHelm and CarbonFiber are two expressions of the same long-running practice: build from where you are, stay close to the people using the work, and keep the decisions human.
I’m a dad as well as a founder and artist. My kids are a big part of my life. Family is part of my story, right alongside the work and the music.
As CarbonHelm’s founder, I am interested in systems that help people move through real work with more clarity. As CarbonFiber, I make songs in a different vocabulary, but with the same respect for craft and independence. The creative practice keeps the technical work honest: a finished thing has to connect with someone, not merely function on paper.
How I work
Visual impairment and adaptive technology are part of my engineering perspective and my workflow. They shape the way I design interfaces, handoffs, and clear confirmation. I want tools that meet people in the way they actually work.
I use hands-free voice collaboration when it is the better way to keep thought and momentum together. A good system can make room for speech, pauses, review and a person who remains in charge.
I organize work so bounded workers can produce, an independent checker can test the claim, an editor can make it legible, VP review can assess it, and human leadership makes the decision.
Cost-aware tiering means not every task receives the same level of model effort. I want the resources to fit the risk and value of the work, with independent evidence checks before I present a result as true.
I am researching how collaboration can carry decisions, open questions, and useful context across sessions, then testing whether that continuity improves the work. Products emerge from real problems, then earn the right to become part of someone’s workflow.
The artist
Independent hip-hop and R&B from San Jose roots, now made from Las Vegas. Music is a second form of the same independent making.

Music gives the building work a different language. It holds the part of the process that cannot be reduced to a product brief: the rhythm of starting again, the discipline of finishing, and the decision to make something that carries its own point of view.
Adaptive technology belongs in this process too. It is part of how I make, evaluate, and keep the work moving across both engineering and creative practice.
